I like it, a lot. It's a lot less complex, dark, and oppressive than Berserk as we know it now, but there's still a lot of qualities there that I enjoy. I think I would have kept reading if it went in that direction, though I think the direction Miura ultimately went in was for the best. It's pretty neat and I still go back to it from time to time.

Miura first premiered Berserk in 1988 with a 48-page prototype, which won a prize at the Comi Manga School where he was enrolled at the time. In fact, the prototype came at a time after another of Miura's manga had failed.
