Brass is a copper zinc alloy. Tarnished brass is oxide, Lemishine removes the copper and zinc oxides but doesn't remove any copper underneath. The pink bloom is just copper. After 2 or 3 hours of cleaning (I did let the sonic cleaner rest every 30 minutes), a few brass that sat next next to the bronze brush turned pink/red. After drying the brass with the Hornady case dryer the pink color turned darker (like shown in the picture). The bronze brass also turned pink just like the brass did.

Hello: I found that brass gets that pink color when warm pickle and warm rinse is used. So I use pickle and rinse with water at ambient temperature. Brass also gets a nice yellow color when pickling with cromic acid. I have also cleaned that pink color with cyanide with good results (Never mix cyanide with ANY acid).
