It's known as the Burwash Correctional Prison or as Camp Bison Prison Farm, and its history is pretty crazy. So the Burwash Correctional Prison was originally built in 1914. And when it started out, the area was remote and isolated. At one time, it could hold up to 1000 inmates. But it never actually reached full capacity.

Went out to Camp Bison Prison Farm in Burwash recently. It was my first time out there and definitely a bit of an experience. To start the walk from the car is a nice 4.5km walk. Most of it is easy going however there're a couple spots where the trail is completely flooded. Rubber boots or wet feet are the two options.
