The walkway itself is pretty level, and it crosses the gorge twice on two suspended bridges. There are two circular trails in the gorge, one from Leutasch and the other from Mittlewald. The two trails cover both banks of the gorge, and meet in the lower suspended bridge, which has great views of the mountains to the east.

Technically speaking, the gorge sits on the Bavarian-Tyrolean border, and we found ourselves crisscrossing back and forth between Germany and Austria over the course of two hours. The 10.4-mile Leutaschklamm Gorge Loop is a new-ish development in the Alps and one I'd not discovered until I started researching attractions to hit up on this trip.
