7 plague marines, 7 color schemes. I love it. If you've got the patience I'd consider doing all your Marines like this. I've never been able to find "official" color schemes for each Plague Company, so indontnsee the harm in having a variety of schemes throughout the army as long as you can keep track of your squads.

Listening to the "Talon of Horus" audio book made me change my mind about my csm color scheme and instead start with the Black Legion :D Reply. I just finished painting a bunch of Black Legion plague marines with good trim, and honestly you made the right call here. Gold looks nice, but it sorta detracts from the weathered look of a plague.

Cover most of the bone wit a couple of coats of XV-88. Leave points at the bottom and pull the brush towards the tip. Mix XV-88 and Ushabti Bone 1:1. Now repeat the above step, coverring less area. With pure Ushabti Bone do the same again, you should now be adding these like a chunky highlight towards the tip.

Get a strong Grim Reaper / Black Death sort of theme going. maybe a dark brown or low saturation drab green for the soft armor & cables. And bright gold trim with some blueish/greenish corrosion would add a nice bit of color to the scheme - alternatively bone trim could work well with black.

I found a quick n dirty way that works well if you're doing "darker" plague maries: 1 base coat in Chaos black spray. 2 paint all the armour in knarloc green foundation paint (1 coat - really easy) 3 ink wask 20%brown ink, 20% flesh wash, 60%water all over the green areas. 4 highlight raised armour in rotting flesh.

How to paint Death Guard Plague Marines. 1. Undercoat the Plague Marine black. I use Vallejo Surface Primer and an airbrush. You can hand paint on a Primer or use an aerosol. 2. Using a large brush (size 2 or 3) base coat the Death Guard armour with Loren Forest.

The goal was yes they are plague marines, but you can still glimpse at the shining silver and noble purple they used to be. TLDR: any color scheme is great. go for it. as long as u like it, no one else cares. and if ur opponent does care, you shouldn't play with them anyways :P

Rather than resorting to the standard green seen on Death Guard and Plague Marines, I decided on a white scheme, harking back to their pre-Heresy colors. Each of the marine's shoulder pauldrons have freehand work, one of pre-heresy Death Guard Legion heraldry and the other a more personal motif of a fly with a flaming crown.
