When I was a little girl we lived in Houston till I was 8. My mom worked in town close to Alameda Mall and would eat lunch at Monterey House from time to time. Part of their trademark was to give out a piece of Mexican candy at the end of each meal. Mom would always save me hers. The company went bankrupt in 1987 so I only had my fond memories.
