Dit is de Vastelaovesposter van 2023. Elk jaar een bijzonder moment: hoe ziet de Vastelaovesposter uit? De poster, die gratis wordt verspreid, is voor veel inwoners een uiting om carnaval een warm hart toe te dragen. De Provincie Limburg, De Limburger en de Sjeng Kraft Kompenei presenteerden vrijdag 27 februari de 17e editie van de kunstposter.

This year RTV Maastricht once again presents a new Carnavalsposter for the 'vastelaovend vierend vollek vaan Mestreech' (Maastrichtenaren who celebrate Carnaval).. The new poster, again designed by artist Famke Rousseau, was unveiled by the jeugdprinsenpaar of De Sljaaibök from Amby, (centre right and centre left of the photo) who were crowned in November last year.

Sunday, February 19. On the Sunday of Carnival each year, the Prince's Flag is raised, and at 12.11pm, 11 cannon shots start the Carnival. At 1.33pm, the big parade starts at Maastricht Central Station and processes through the city centre. The number 11 is known as the "fool's number" and is widely used throughout the carnival celebrations.

Frank Wagtmans heeft in opdracht van de Provincie Limburg de carnavalsposter 2023 gemaakt. Met deze kunstposter wordt een traditie voortgezet. Het originele schilderij wordt toegevoegd aan de kunstcollectie van de Provincie Limburg en is te bezichtigen tijdens rondleidingen in het Gouvernement aan de Maas in Maastricht.
