The Gardena Pass is situated in the Dolomites, between Val Gardena and Val Badia, which connects Selva di Val Gardena with Colfosco in Badia. The pass faces north the Sella Group and south Cir group. The High Route n.2 from Bressanone to Feltre cross the pass.

Passo Gardena is actually a mountain pass. It's located in the Dolomites of Alto Adige, Italy. And it's an absolutely stunning drive. Which also means it's quite popular with drivers, bikers (motorcycles) and cyclists (pedaling a bicycle). So while I think it's worth the trip, I preface this post forewarning you that it can be busy.

Gardena Pass ( Italian: Passo Gardena; German: Grödnerjoch; Ladin: Ju de Frara or Jëuf de Frea) is a high mountain pass in the Dolomites of the South Tyrol in northeast Italy . Cappella di San Maurizio At an elevation of 2,136 m (7,008 ft) above sea level, the pass connects Sëlva in the Val Gardena on the west side with Corvara in the Val Badia.

The hike to the big cross (Gran Cir) on Gardena Pass is one of our favorite short day hikes in the Dolomites. It provides a 360 degree view of the surrounding mountain ranges and the sunset here is EPIC. As a plus, this hike is also very easy to do logistic-wise. There's no need to get on a pricey cable car to the trailhead.

Val Gardena (Grödnertal) is a valley in South Tyrol in the Italian Dolomites, stretching from Gardena Pass (Passo Gardena / Grödnerjoch) and Sella Pass (Passo Sella) to Valle Isarco (Eisacktal). From Val Gardena, you can easily access Puez-Odle Nature Park, the Sassolungo Group, the Sella Group, Resciesa Plateau, and the Alpe di Siusi meadows.

The Passo Gardena is the main connecting road between the ladin valleys of Val Badia and Val Gardena, and as the main road, it is also one of the busiest passes of the Dolomites. In the morning you may encounter commuters driving to work, and herds of tourists or motorbikes on a ride throughout the day.
