Depending on whose story I seemed to enjoy the most, I will play their origin story next in a multiplayer session. Dark Urge may be my 3rd or 4th playthrough depending on if I wanted to play a second origin first.

edit: it's very conditional if it's better than custom. If you plan on good/neutral playthrough, DU background may turn out detrimental and wasteful (you miss out on stuff if you stay good guy). If you plan to be evil, it's a huge improvement over "normal Tav" as DU background encourages you to act evil. Sometimes it is better.
