Badak lake is a gem of Ugam-Chatkal National Park. It is located at an altitude of 1,700 m. above sea level. The name Badak is of Turkic origin, which means "broad." The lake stretches from East to West more than a kilometer, in width it reaches more than 200 meters, the maximum depth is 23.2 m.

The Ugam Chatkal National Park, about 150km northeast of Tashkent, is one of Uzbekistan's most scenic mountain areas. But you need climbing ropes in Gulkham Canyon itself, because there are some tough places. Sometimes somebody can leave such ropes on the route and you can use them.
