The CC is based very much on the "B6" chassis Passat that was offered in the US from '06 to '10. Engines, drivetrain, chassis, interiors- almost everything was the same/similar except for things like the sheet metal, sunroof, frameless windows, and "4 seat" configuration (until the '13 went to a 5 seat on the CC).
