The Alnwick castle is spectacular, of course, but there is something magical and quite breathtaking about the wee little towns like Kelso or the coast scenery of Northumberland. 10/10. I would take this tour everyday if I had the chance. But for the meantime, I'll remember it fondly. Thanks a lot, Jim!


How to spend the day at ALNWICK CASTLE.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone filmed on location at Alnwick Castle in autumn 2000. The following year, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (the second film in the series) used Alnwick Castle for shooting. The Outer Bailey is recognisable as the area where Harry and his fellow students learned to fly broomsticks with Madam Hooch.

The castle is free to visit as a Historic Houses member, while the gardens cost ยฃ17.60 per adult, which you can purchase in advance on their website here. Alnwick Castle is open daily from 31 March.
