The large square also would make a captivating pillow or table runner. A good size to use is to finish the quilt block approximately 14" square.

A nine patch quilt from Linda Halpin. Once basic sewing skills were mastered, other more complicated patterns could be made. Laura talks of making a Bear's Paw quilt. The bias edges of the triangles, as shown in this Bear's Paw block, made it a trickier block to sew. It was a challenge to keep the seams smooth and neat.

Each square is a window (of sorts). Am wondering if you do a border around each window or just butt them together. I am a long way from that

Dove in a Window Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block Start by cutting the Color 2 6-7/8" x 13-3/4" strip into two 6-7/8" squares. Stack these squares and cut them in half once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles. Cut the Color 2 2-1/2" x 10" strip into four 2-1/2" squares.
